Introducing Our Founder

Sarah Piddington: Advocate. Educator. People-First Leader.

I didn’t start my career to climb a corporate ladder. I started it to advocate for people who didn’t feel heard.

Being adopted, growing up with a strong sense of not quite belonging, and facing bullying early in life gave me a deep empathy for those on the outside. Later, surviving a life-threatening illness pushed me to rethink everything. I knew I had two choices: to shrink… or to lead.

I chose to lead — and to help others do the same.

I got into workplace health and safety because I wanted to protect people. But I quickly saw the system was broken: safety was physical, but health was an afterthought. Wellbeing was ‘nice to have.’ Leadership was inconsistent.

So I brought everything I had — my background in psychology and neuroscience and real-world business experience — and built a new model. One where compliance meets care. Where high performance doesn’t cost wellbeing. And where leaders understand how to support others by leading themselves first.

That’s what SAWT is here to deliver — at scale.

2011 – Sarah launched her first consultancy to move businesses beyond reactive safety into proactive wellbeing

2018 – Safe and Well Together (SAWT) was born, blending neuroscience, leadership, systems, and safety into one cohesive offer

Today – SAWT partners with clients across sectors to solve real people problems — from disengagement and burnout to compliance confusion and toxic cultures
